Yes, yes.  Harry Potter was great and it will always be a timeless classic from our generation.  The movies were fantastic and they will always be.

BUT…

THERE IS A REASON THAT FRANCHISES NEVER WIN!  Harry Potter had its chance at the Oscars with the first movie.  To give all the HP movies equal weight against moves like The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo and Hugo (etc.) would be unfair.  Those movies have one shot at the Oscars, and they want to take advantage of it.

So as much as I always will love the HP movies, I really am not upset that their time at the Oscars ended a long time ago.
